Shipping & Receiving Manager

Evans Companies is a privately held 3rd generation manufacturing business celebrating 70+ years. We are seeking a reliable, hard-working individual to work as Shipping & Receiving Manager with shipping and receiving experience.

This position will be part of the Shipping & Receiving Department responsible for the loading/unloading of trucks to/from customers, vendors, and Evans facility and managing warehouse cleanliness and inventory control.  This position can and may include all or some of the duties and responsibilities listed below.

Job Duties

  • Scan inventory into warehouse system.
  • Follow customer orders to pull and scan out of the warehouse system the correct product for the order.
  • Load/unload all trucks with correct loads.
  • Place all products received from vendors in the correct location and tagged into inventory with visible labeling.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Utilizes in-house inventory tracking system.
  • Perform cycle counts.
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of storage areas.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Must be capable of driving and safely operating forklift
  • Excellent and effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must be able to follow and give instructions.
  • Must be willing to accept accountability and work well within a team.
  • Must have strong time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail required.

Experience/Education

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ Year Shipping & Receiving Experience Preferably in Manufacturing

 Physical Requirements

  • Good vision, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Sitting and standing for long periods of time.
  • Climb forklift, stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift/ move up to 50 lbs.
  • PPE required on a regular basis including safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel-toed shoes.

Schedule:

(Subject to change in future)

  • 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Day Shift
  • Monday through Thursday
  • No Weekends
